Our Teachers

Our preschool educators are qualified with their B.S. in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. All of our staff members are ready to serve you and your child with a welcoming, kind approach. Each member of our team is CPR certified and has received First Aid Training, along with continuous professional development. 

Licensed and Tn 3 star quality Program

We are beyond proud to say that our program is a licensed childcare facility by the state of Tennessee. We are also eager to share that we have received 3 out of 3 stars in the TN Star Quality Program. These two aspects of our program provide confidence in our families as they navigate a preschool for their child.

About  Our  program

Christ Our Savior Academy was founded in 1996 to provide a nurturing, creative and safe environment where young children can develop a love for learning about their Savior, themselves, and the world around them.

Over twenty-five years later, COS Academy is a place where little ones can gently be shown their responsibility to God, parents, teachers, classmates and themselves. We are blessed to be able to continue to offer excellent education, nurturing care, and the message of Jesus to the children and families of the Columbia area. We are fortunate to be supported in part by Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church.  This allows us to employ teachers with further education in Early Childhood Education, provide an excellent program, and still keep tuition at a reasonable rate for parents.  We would love to have you join our family!​

In Social- Emotional Learning

​A child’s social and emotional skills are a very important part of the foundation needed for learning and growth.  We work with all of the children to develop and grow these skills throughout their years at COS Academy. Through stable routines, a Christian example, and gentle, consistent guidance, the children learn focus and self-control, perspective taking, effective communication, and confidence to take on challenges.  The loving, Christian care creates an atmosphere that also fosters helpfulness, generosity and caring.

In Faith

​We believe that our most important work here at COSA is teaching and sharing the good news of the Gospel message with your child. The children learn of their Savior and his deep love for them as it is integrated throughout the curriculum and in their interactions with their teachers and each other.

​Our carefully planned and stimulating learning centers help the children to engage in  self-directed learning every day.  Our teachers guide learning by being facilitators for children’s discoveries, experiences, and questions.  Our teachers plan studies and lessons based on the HighScope Curriculum, which includes activities designed to foster pre-reading and writing skills, mathematics, social studies, science and much more! Our low teacher to student ratios allow for teachers to build on individual student strengths and learning.

HighScope Curriculum
​​Play is an essential part of young children’s learning and development, therefore Christ Our Savior's Early Childhood Curriculum is built on play-based active learning. By using the Key Developmental Indicators of the High Scope curriculum, teachers create learning experiences that support exploration and encourage creative imagination.
