Dear Parents,
I know that your child is your most precious gift, and I am humbled and blessed each time one of you entrusts him or her to me and our school. As the Director of COS Academy, I feel the great responsibility to partner with you to ensure that your child is loved and nurtured under our care. I promise to love your child every day, to help them develop a love for learning, to foster their curiosity, to help them gain a better understanding of themselves and the world around them, and to prepare them to be successful in their future education. Most importantly, I promise to share the love of Jesus with them as they play, learn and grow. A little about my background - Originally from Wisconsin, I moved to the Columbia, TN area in 2014 and began my position as Director of COS Academy. In May of 2014, I graduated from Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN with my B.S. in Elementary Education and a MN teaching license. Since that time, I have taken over 150 hours of continuing education classes in Early Childhood Education, attended leadership training seminars, and have fulfilled the requirements to earn a three (out of three) star rating as an Early Childhood Director in the state of Tennessee. In my spare time, I enjoy playing sports, cooking, singing, reading, and spending time with loved ones. I am excited to help COS Academy continue to grow and provide a loving, nurturing environment that maintains high standards in excellent and Christ-centered education! |
Sarah Crass, Teacher
Sarah (Miss Sarah) attended Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN, to study Early Childhood and Elementary Education. After graduating in 2016, she served one year as the Director and Lead Teacher of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Preschool in Tomah, WI. Sarah moved to Tennessee from Wisconsin with her husband, Pastor Isaac Crass, the summer of 2017 and was excited to continue working with young children at COS Academy. Sarah enjoys hiking, kayaking, arts & crafts, and sharing the saving news of Jesus with preschool children and their families! |
Teresa Brown, Assistant Teacher
Terry (Miss Terry) draws upon her 10+ years of experience as a preschool teacher at COS Academy and her 22+ years of experience as a mother of three to ensure that each child reaches their full potential in learning. She works hard to lovingly understand each student and to help them exceed expectations. Motivated by the love of her Savior, Terry shows love, patience, and kindness to each student as she helps them to grow and learn. Terry's bright personality adds enthusiasm and energy to the classroom which is reflected in the children she teaches. Although originally from Michigan, Terry and her husband Brian have lived in Tennessee for 23 years, and have been actively involved in the ministry of Christ Our Savior for just as long. |
Brooklynn Brown, Assistant Teacher
Brooklynn (Miss Brook) is a great blessing to our staff at COS Academy as she brings a great love for her Savior, a passion for working with children, and her experience working with special needs children at King's Daughters' School in Columbia. Brook's patience, caring spirit, and bubbly personality bring warmth to the classroom and to each child with whom she works. Brook was born and raised in Tennessee and has been involved in the ministry of COS Church her entire life. In addition to working with children and sharing her love of Jesus, Brook enjoys singing and playing tennis. |
Carrie Hunt, Assistant Teacher
Carrie (Miss Carrie) brings new energy and excitement to COS Academy as she is finishing up her degree in Early Childhood Education. Her passion for working with young children led her to serve as an assistant teacher in two different child care centers during her college years, and we are thrilled to add her experience and energy to our staff. Carrie's tender heart and nurturing personality bring a profound sense of comfort to our classroom and to each child with whom she works. Carrie was born and raised in Wisconsin, but moved to Tennessee in the Spring of 2017. In addition to working with young children, Carrie has a huge passion for animals, music, and sharing her faith in Jesus with those around her. |
